The Early Childhood Education program prepares its teacher candidates for exciting, rewarding careers working with children. Whether you are just beginning your bachelor’s degree or have already accumulated some college credit, you can enter Kendall’s Early Childhood Education program at any stage in your education. We offer students practical tracks that suit a variety of career goals and objectives. Choose the one that best meets your needs.

Early Childhood Education Tracks:

B.A. in Early Childhood Education with Illinois Type 04 Teacher Certification Preparation is for those seeking preparation for state certification.

B.A. in Early Childhood Education (non-certification) is available for those interested in teaching in the field where state certification is not required.

Illinois Type 04 Teacher Certification Preparation (post-baccalaureate) is for students who have already earned a B.A. or a B.S. degree and wish to complete preparation requirements for the Illinois Type 04 Certification.

The School of Education at Kendall College also offers the following endorsements and approvals:

  • ESL and Bilingual Endorsements
  • Special Education Approval

The Kendall College Early Childhood Education program combines classroom lessons with real-world experience. Our curriculum ensures that your coursework and field training are specific to your desired field.
